A very very invasive anti-cheat that grants itself kernel-level access (basically making it a root kit) and constantly interferes with applications and even drivers from running if it doesn't like them. (a.k.a. falsely flags a perfectly fine program/driver as something for cheating)

Isnt that program been inside Valorant since launch? I insta deinstalled it when I saw root access from anti cheat. Did not know it had a name. Why is the angry mob angry now after like a year+.

They just added it to League of Legends, that's what the article is about, it mentions LoL players.
