Isnt vanguard kernel level and therefore a risk to security if hacked by a third party or something?

Yep, and Riot hasn't got the best track record for security.

Does it?

It has the one breach where the source code leaked and is the reason why they now added Vanguard to League.

Besides that i cant find anything online and honestly even looking at a hand full of over companies at a similar size i would argue Riot seems to have one of the best track records.

While yes once is enough, saying it has an especially bad record is just a bad faith argument.
