This game just tells me I'd rather have a tough shot maker and monster defender than a triple double stat padding machine

Looking at how calm, cool, and collected the Nuggets are while trailing in double figures still managing to claw back and execute their game plan, Yeah I don't really see any team this year capable of actually beating the Nuggets in a 7 game series. And Jokic, my god this dude is just an absolute monster and nightmare to deal with. Their 5 main guys just complement each other perfectly.

Shout out to the nuggets coach that supported AD on the bench to make sure he didn't get hurt

Shitty refs deciding games again in Denver. They already have the altitude advantage jfc.
2
u/Hirokage 9d ago
Yea.. because it's not like the Lakers would even be where they are if not for the 'shitty refs.' Refs also didn't account for 20 points.. Lakers sucked and should have stopped them well before a single play.

Lebron switched off the scoring threat AGAIN.
This dude really crumbles when it matters.
Dude plays 30 minutes a night, 60 games a season, and playoff basketball is STILL too hard for him.

AD bitching about not getting DPOY votes, only to have game winner shot over him by a guy 7” shorter is just perfect

Looks like KCP decided to help AD instead of jumping all over him. Class act!

I've never seen a made shot cross someone up so bad 😆 . Shot reminded me of a less dramatic Kawhi pull up over my sixers 😭

u/P00nz0r3d [LAL] Lonzo Ball 10d ago
Incredible shot. Dislike Murray with a passion since his stupid Lonzo antics but that was a hell of a shot.
Everyone is bitching about the foul but we lost the game in the 3rd with a 5 minute scoreless run of us being stuck at 74 points. What an unserious team

The Nuggets couldn’t miss at the end of the game and to me it looked like foster had an agenda in mind.
The shot clock violation on that loose ball was wild. It looked like Murray clearly touched the ball with both hands before Austin got it back.
But ultimately, this loss hangs on Lebron shoulders. It came down to 2 plays. The missed and one free throw and the missed 3 down the stretch.
On top of that, Jokic and Murray could not fu kin miss in the last 5.

I think he has to establish possession and not only to touch it with both hands for a split second.

How is he not an all-star? He makes big shots after big shots after big shots. So clutch

Don't let the game winner distract you from the fact that Jamal Murray almost threw the game away 5 times.

Anyone who still puts Lebron in the top 10 all time is a joke. He is garbage

What was AD doing after the shot? It looked like he wanted to jump in the pile with the other Nuggets.

this has got to be so demoralizing. Having a 20 point lead, DLO having a great game, and losing on a game winner after an impressive comeback. Almost everything went their way and in the end it still wasn't enough.

u/IcyChard4 10d ago
Reporter: ...can you take us to that last play, and what just happened, what unfolded, and what was...I don't know if you we're screened or what happened at last play?
Anthony Davis: Jamal Murray made a shot.

"I can block shots, I can help from the weak side, I can switch onto anybody, I can guard the pick-and-roll, I can guard the guard and get back on the big and break up the lob, I can guard the post, I can guard the pin-down," Davis said. "Whatever it is. Whatever it is defensively, I'm able to do.
"So, that's my ability. My ability defensively is to do everything."

u/visual_clarity 10d ago
Great game. Lebron and AD were awesome, the gameplan to tire jokic was not a bad one. The Nuggets roleplayers were on point, they stepped up MPJ just dagger after dagger. Nuggets just got a team that collectively can get buckets. Murray was acting like a punk until Lebron put him in his place. That game winner though was redemption though.
Just a bunch of stuff that happened in my post, go watch the game. Lakers can beat this team, they were so close to getting over that hump but that ending 3 minutes was nuts
1
u/zilla135 Nuggets 10d ago
Jamal was tired of seeing Joker make shots over AD and figured he would give it a try.

u/misterj195 10d ago
I feel for the Lakers, they really tried so hard these last 2 games but somehow some way the nuggets just end up beating them. Lakers at their best can compete against the nuggets, but nuggets are far the more consistent team.

u/Dannyzavage Bulls 10d ago
AD before the game: People hate me, thats why I can win the DPOY. I can easily switch 1-5 and stop them all.
AD during the final clutch moment: i couldnt stop someone whos like 6’4 from shooting a fadeaway middy.

u/Gr00vealicious 10d ago

And now everybody thinks Lakers will win at home cause they were so close away at home. But Murray will start hitting his shot, jokic will be jokic and the Lakers will get swept.

Isn’t that the guy claiming he’s the best defender in the league and can guard 1 through 5 better than anybody getting hit on for the game winner?

u/aroach1995 Cavaliers 10d ago
This is how you break a team.
At least they are going back home to play 2 more games, but I can’t think of a worse setup

You can't have 39 lebron play a whole game. So when he sits and the nuggets cut the lead to 2 points in his, what, 3 minutes on the bench? There's not going to cut it.

It was the closest thing to Jordan's 98 shot. The way their dribbling at near half court is very similar as well.
"Murray 5 seconds away from game 3 or championship #2.
Murray OPEN, Denver with the lead"

So much sweeter to have LeChoke miss an open go-ahead jumper just before Murray comes down and hits the winning shot over AD.

The games have been interesting for sure. But this is a play in team against the reigning champions.
1
u/Jeff8711 Nuggets 10d ago
I don't think you realize how close the clippers were to being a play in team you had 2 more wins then the pelicans and the difference between the clippers and the 10 seed was 5 wins. The west was really competitive this year.

He hunted down AD and go the buzzer beater for the win on the self proclaimed best defender in the league who can guard 1 through 5.
Poor guy got swarmed into the whole Nuggets team celebration.

Murray going for 9-24 shooting in back-to-back games is a problem, but he still made the most important shot and that's what matters.
Another crushing defeat (from up 20 this time) for the Lakers. It's hard to see them recovering now.

Amazing how 1 shot can change people's perspective. If MPJ had made the game winner instead of Murray, people would be saying Murray had an ass game and he needs to fix his shit and instead we're all talking about how unreal he is and how he's him in the play offs and all this shit.
I mean he did make that shot and it was incredible. The guy is proven to be clutch AF. I'm just in awe
3
u/runevault Nuggets 10d ago
Eh 5-7 down the stretch in the 4th to set up the game winner still redeems Murray, the actual game winner is just the cherry on top.

Idk why you’re being down voted “he got it” with like 10% excitement in his voice. He’s not good.

Of course this happens immediately after his complaining about not being one of the finalists for DPOY.
