I love Deadpool/Ryan Reynolds. I love Hugh Jackman/Wolverine. The combination is one made in Marvel heaven. They really could've just left me hanging with the first trailer, something about the mystery that came with only being spared glimpses of the big man made it that much more exciting. But with no background info on the behind-the-scenes or any production dilemmas, I can only assume that it is going to be a good movie. As long as its funny, it does right by the characters, and has a good plot, I'll be content.

I know it won't happen, but I'd be over the moon if Wolverine went into berzerker mode to take out Cassandra Nova...maybe there is some weird scenario where her powers won't work on him when he is in that insane beast mode, and he ultimately kills her.

If anyone is really excited for this as a Marvel fan, you should watch X-Men 97 the animated follow up to the beloved series from the 90's. It's on Disney Plus and is everything you'd want in anything Marvel. True to the canon with stellar animation. I can't say enough good things about it.

it seems like most people are concluding this is a different wolverine than the one in the Logan film, but why couldn’t this adventure fit in the timeline of Logan but before the story depicted in the Logan movie?

I was always more of a Cyclops fan (especially in the comics), but I really loved this moment for showing love for how much Logan means to the entire X-Men ip - comics, movies, all of it.

He clearly has his group at the start of the film and either loses them or gets separated from them somehow. So he is trying to get back to them, or is he looking for a new group?

Genuine question. My hubby and I love Deadpool. We don't particularly enjoy other superhero films. But it sounds like we might need at least a catch-up on some wolverine lore to get the most out of this. What is the minimum we might want to watch here prior to this film? Apart from Logan I suppose.

Honestly at most probably logan from the looks of it, but I'd imagine you can come in blind.
If you know the gist of Wolverine you don't really need much else.

Come in blind, you'll have way more fun otherwise you're just going to end up comparing how much the movie doesn't hold up to Multiverse X Men or Old Man Logan runs.
If anything, watch or read days of future past. If you have no idea who Cassandra Nova is, good. In fact, great.

Please for the love of god have this mean the original cast of the x men is dead and gone. New talent and new mutants need to be introduced, everything apart from first class was just “a few mutants AND WOLVERINE”. Just be done with the fox xmen and make it fresh. Would love to see a good version of cyclops.

Why are these trailers weirdly serious? Random comedy attempts & swear words dropped in do nothing to ceer off the serious tone. It gives a bad impression that they're leaning harder into the worst parts of the first two movies.

I’m not shitting on him or the people that like Jackman. I know a ton of people grew up with him as Wolverine and yadayada, but I was so excited for Logan because I figured Hugh was finally hanging up the claws for good and I could get a bit more of a book-accurate Wolverine and now here we are. I know this really doesn’t mean anything for the future of X-Men, but goddamnit. I’m so so tired of the Bryan Singer-verse.

If Radcliffe worked on his voice and got yoked, he’d crush that role. Andy Serkis too, but he’d obviously be playing a much older Wolverine which would probably negate recasting.
An unknown short, Canadian actor that could completely sink into the role would be my ultimate preference honestly.

There was some of that in the first one. But I have a hard time believing they'd have that in this one. I'll bet most of the R rating is "fucks" and blood. But there should be sites you can check when the movie comes out to see beforehand. The second one didn't have sex or nudity in it.
EDIT: oh there was a CGI baby dick in the second one

This trailer makes me think this is gonna be the inverse of infinity war. Where jnstead of a crossover of a bunch of characters converging on one main plot, it’s a crossover of a bunch of different plots converging on these main characters.

I really don't like superhero and comic book movies but this actually looks pretty entertaining.
I read wolverine when I was a kid and I thought the first Deadpool movie was fun. But it seems like they work well together, especially when they're allowed to be R rated.

Have a strong feeling they can save the MCU with this one tbh. It sounds like they’re acknowledging the fact that the tone of Deadpool is so much different than everything else they’ve had but will actually stick the landing outside of just simple fan service with characters we want to see.
