This man is 80 years old and still spittin’ from the pulpit

1

u/lavahot 7d ago

I don't agree with the reasoning, because the reason he gives for not liking Trump's Bible is the same reason people like Trump's bible.

1

u/WillytheWimp1 7d ago

Incoming threats from “real Christians” in 3..2..1…

1

u/WonkaVR 8d ago

Finally one that’s sane

2

u/LemonFlavoredMelon 8d ago

I usually don't like televangelists, but this guy is 100% correct. Good on you, man!

1

u/SweetHomeNostromo 8d ago

This used to not be such a remarkable attitude, 30 or 40 years ago.

Today, it's darn near unique.

1

u/Outside_Green_7941 9d ago

Then why is the church the biggest racist lobbying group...

1

u/tehfrog729 9d ago

A not insignificant amount of American churches nowadays are just glorified recruitment centers for reactionary demagogues.

2

u/Previous-Ad-9322 9d ago

Fair enough, bro.

2

u/noahbhm 9d ago

That's real. Amen preacher. Wish I could share this on other platforms

4

u/Maleficent_Load6709 9d ago

This is what protestant Christianity is all about. Today, Churches are just manipulated by politicians who parrot Christian discourse and outright preach hate to get themselves in power, making deals with pastors who only care about money. It's disgusting.

3

u/AgarwaenCran 9d ago

I am an atheist through and through, but I like this priest. He gets it: religion and politics are two completly seperate things and should not be mixed.

1

u/mad_titanz 9d ago

Looks like this pastor actually read the Bible, unlike other pretenders

2

u/iburiedmyshovel 9d ago

"Stop giving power and money to people who aren't me"

1

u/stodolak 9d ago

This guy is a real one. Respect

2

u/KingBoo96 9d ago

I mean as a Muslim he ain’t wrong lol. All our religions are practically the same and this man is spittin

1

u/SlimyPurpleMeteor 9d ago

Anyone got a link to this without the Trump pic included?

2

u/Negative_Field_8057 9d ago

He saw through Trump's insane attempt to amend THE BIBLE. Agent Orange wiggin harder than the self emolators

2

u/Sorry_Im_Trying 10d ago

Oh! So some of them are aware?!

3

u/Chromeburn_ 10d ago

Refreshing change from the “Trump is a Christian!” Dogma.

3

u/1eyebigsnake 10d ago

I'm shocked. I've never seen a Christian preacher pretty much saying, "Don't bring your politics into our religion".

1

u/pino_is_reading 10d ago

i also had an imaginary magic friend when i was a kid but then i grew up

3

u/wonderingtoken 10d ago

You know he means business when knife hand comes out.

1

u/jam_scot 10d ago

The Maga crackpots, the Christian pastors, the Zionists etc are all crazy levels of unhinged

2

u/dannynotok 10d ago

This is better than all the "He Gets Us" ads rolled into one

1

u/epicthinker1 10d ago

this man has it 100%

Religion and politics are not the same, equal, or interconnected.

2

u/RabbleRouser27 10d ago

Highly recommend “The Kingdom, The Power, and the Glory” by Tim Alberta, where he delves into the intersection of politics and the evangelical church, both recent trends and its history. It’ll put this video into better context of why what he is saying is part of a small but growing movement of evangelical pastors trying to fight back against the politicalization of their church.

1

u/Horsefeathers34 10d ago

When he said "This is not my home." I thought he was going to start quoting Tom Waits lyrics, haha.

2

u/dilgert 10d ago

About time

0

u/junkpunch2 10d ago

Fuuuuuuck yoooou

1

u/Much_Turn7013 10d ago

Holy based

1

u/mrbaffles14 10d ago

Probably wouldn’t agree with most of his opinions but this is accurate

1

u/cosmoknautt 10d ago

As a Christian, it upsets me how rare it is to hear someone preach this. Amen, brother.

1

u/CRUMMYcuzz 10d ago

He was Cookin. I'm a Muslim but my family is christian, I seen on their Tv they had TBN on and on the show, they were platforming Jan 6'ers, hocking books, while still facing trial, telling a distorted view of their story. it was like stacklebeck or something and they were just saying pretty hate filled stuff. Now this preacher here.. is doing the lords work.

1

u/Homechicken42 10d ago

So, what he's saying is that Trump finally went too far?

2

u/8wiing 10d ago

I love seeing truly passionate pastors. So many Christian’s have forgotten that this religion is about forgiveness and love not judgement and hate.

1

u/whoisgeorgia 10d ago

The fact that I see other races on the stage says a lot! American churches are very segregated.

1

u/dsbwayne 10d ago

He cooked and ate with this one

1

u/29again 10d ago

He will probably be run out of that church soon.

3

u/Feisty-Specific-8793 10d ago

This is a good pastor. Love the straight forward and directness. Some of the guys mix politics in with preaching, especially back in in Bible Belt where I’m from. Breathe of fresh air

1

u/mrsdrydock 10d ago

Still hates gays. So...🤷‍♀️

1

u/BullshitPickle 10d ago

I bet he still uses his civic privilege and votes for tRump....

1

u/Mean_Peen 10d ago

The sad part is you can tell a lot of people don’t agree in the crowd. Which in a church setting like this one, says a lot. I wouldn’t be surprised if a good chunk of these people look for another church after this. A lot of Religious people can be petty af lol

1

u/RedDeadEddie 10d ago

I'm not religious, but this is stirring.

1

u/king-ish 10d ago

Is this what the kids call based ?

1

u/KentuckyKlondike 10d ago

i love how the commenters here seem to think that because he's a seperatist, he is not a complete nutbag.

1

u/snowy_xoxo 10d ago

We need more people like this one, God bless him.

1

u/moteur_modfie 10d ago

i wish christians were all like this man

1

u/dounutrun 10d ago

trump sucking maga's pockets dry. no tithes for you brother

3

u/Ilikenapkinz 10d ago

When I was a teenager I hated George Bush and my pastor prayed that God would lead him in the right direction and help guide him to make good decisions for our country.

I was so angry I stood up mid sermon and walked out. Years later he said the same things about Obama. I realized as I got older my pastor wasn’t pushing Bush or Obama but just praying he guides them to make the right choices despite what anyone’s political beliefs were.

Great pastor.

1

u/netherlanddwarf 10d ago

This is incredibly refreshing

1

u/Slow-Rabbit7663 10d ago edited 10d ago

As a Christian I am so relieved to finally hear someone expose Trump as the con man he is. We could say how hard it is to believe there are ppl brain washed enough to think this country was included in the Bible. Gmab! Trump is literally trying to make himself to be equal to God

1

u/West-Ad-8049 10d ago

Where is his gold rings and Rolex? You can’t preach the word of God without that.

1

u/SaintOlgasSunflowers 10d ago

It's about time a preacher got righteously angry and put it all out there. Or like he said, he reared back and told them something.

Voting is a Civic privilege, not spiritual duty.

1

u/Ambitious-Pirate-505 10d ago

LET HIM COOK!!!

1

u/nunyanope 10d ago

Great, now let's do it the other way around too

-1

u/olllj 10d ago

like all preachers, he is knowingly lying professionally, because preachers are being taught professionally what part of scripture to ignore, the human child sacrifice, the genocide, the after-the-fact literacy-prophecies, that are actually just 80 year old diaries, the bigotry and dictatorship/slavery promoitions.

none of it is relevant of it anymore, all of it can be done better without religion.

All religion is all fraudulent and based on lies. it is all about gaining power and wealth by misleading and lying.

1

u/Derelyk 10d ago

That’s refreshing

1

u/FartNoiseGross 10d ago

What a fucking dude. Preach that shit and wake some shitheads up from their stupor

-1

u/DIRECT_J_and_STAR 10d ago

I wish people like this would just die off

3

u/Reciter5613 10d ago

At least this guy knows religion and politics should not mix.

Of course, it might be because talking about politics in a church rosk them losing their tax exempt status.

7

u/JamesHenry627 10d ago

Good to see arguments for a separation of church and state coming from the other side. Be religious just keep it out of government.

1

u/breezeblock87 10d ago

what a barnstormer.

1

u/breakfastmeat23 10d ago

"King James" Bible.

2

u/Historical-Gap-7084 10d ago

I haven't set foot in a church in over 30 years (other than funerals and a few weddings) and I was on the verge of putting up my hand and singing 'Hallelujah'!

3

u/tertiaryunknown 10d ago

We didn't start screaming about politics or getting involved in abortion or otherwise.

You pastors did that.

They call themselves Christian or a believer of the bible? Well...tough shit, your peers got involved by saying 250 years ago that slavery was essential because it was in the bible. Your religion is inextricably tied to politics.

1

u/IWillDoItTuesday 10d ago

Yeah. They need more of this.

1

u/BeastVader 10d ago

Good stuff. This is pretty much how imams are at every mosque. They tell people to be kind to their neighbours, obey the law of the land they live in, and just focus on their prayers and faith in God. Honestly, politics has zero place within a religious institution, be it a mosque, church or synagogue.

2

u/Any_Pie_3070 10d ago

Who is he?

0

u/Majestic_General5050 10d ago

God created politics

1

u/Lumpy_Ad_9082 10d ago

I've had enough of the church being brought into politics... 🫠

1

u/randomlettercombinat 10d ago

This is how you get kicked off TV.

1

u/Dumplingjunior 10d ago

Mah man, preach the good word of the Lord! 🙌🏼🙏🏼

2

u/hairycallous 10d ago

Ok feel free to go through this life “renting” while you wait for your forever home in the fantasy place in the clouds, where you can eat ice cream for breakfast, watch 700 Club perpetually and never again have to sit on a bus stop bench near another person “who don’t look right.” Those of us in grounded reality - who are not trying pointlessly to hold our breaths for 75-ish years - are going to engage with the world around us. Wish us luck!

1

u/orions69 10d ago

Good on him

1

u/mygallows 10d ago

W Pastor

1

u/natener 10d ago

Nice. He's still insane tho.

1

u/r_special_ 10d ago

Let’s get this man elected president!!!

/s

1

u/Jester3696 10d ago

Damn ... I haven't been to church in nearly a decade. I don't even believe in the Judeo-Christian god anymore but um... where does this guy preach?

2

u/Spoons94 10d ago

I. Am. Just. Crashing. On. My. Friend's. Couch. For. A. Little. Since. My. Lease. Ended. Before. My. New. Lease. Started. In this strange and foreign land

1

u/ConnorCink 10d ago

Not really a public freak out but good preachin

3

u/DrHandBanana 10d ago

I'm not a religious man but this man gets a ton of respect. Especially when politicians have been exploiting religious belief for decades.

2

u/wizardsfan 10d ago

He's mad as hell and isn't gonna take it anymore! PREACH!!!

2

u/beardybrownie 10d ago

You telling me Jesus isn’t from America?!

2

u/Spacegod87 10d ago

I love how shocked they are that this could happen.

That people would let a charismatic man (in this case a politician) tell them that God is speaking through them and their actions, etc.

Ya know, like it didn't already happen thousands of years ago...

0

u/Sevwin 10d ago

Weirdo

3

u/RevolutionaryTalk315 10d ago

Not normally one to agree with a Christian preacher, but I 100% agree with this guy.

Hopefully, they will start to figure out that the concept of separation between Church and state is just as much about protecting the integrity of the church as it is about protecting the freedoms provided by the state.

This Trump era and the political ties thay conservatives have created have made a complete mockery of their religion.

2

u/Molly_Matters 10d ago

I've had no interest in church of any sort since I was a teen. I have no place in my life for that man made stuff, but I did enjoy watching this as he put it in their faces.

2

u/Granturismoboi 10d ago

Well I'll be damned. A preacher preaching some good stuff.

-1

u/gunt_lint 10d ago

Someone must have suggested that the church buy Trump bibles instead of the ones he gets a kickback from

1

u/WeedIronMoneyNTheUSA 10d ago

Jesus fucking christ.

1

u/ShubaltzTV 10d ago

Now please make it apply the other way around

2

u/Regina4545 10d ago

Wow!! A pastor who preaches the Word! Not a Christian Nationalist!!

1

u/TheGreatAdventureOfD 10d ago

I've had very good experiences with pastors who actually care about theology. They are open to discussion and learning. It seems like this guy is one of them.

1

u/Gaba8789 10d ago

When a real pastor has to put it in terms that needs reminding with such emphasis, you know Christianity has a problem.

1

u/-XaNaDiTe- 10d ago

This was actually pretty nice to listen to. I like what that guy was sayin

1

u/Galubrious_Gelding 10d ago

I like these noises.

I've been threatened by too many American Christians to be trustful though.

1

u/Psychgirl_02 10d ago

I think we all know exactly which people he is talking to…

2

u/[deleted] 10d ago

Basically what he's saying is, some politicians are using religion as a way to brainwash people to vote when in reality, it should be your own choice who to vote for and not be influenced by propaganda.

2

u/Flimsy-Activity9787 10d ago

Someone read his book

1

u/Scary-Gap-4636 10d ago

Although I am not comfortable with this particular kind of expression of christianity, the preacher here stands on very solid theological ground. I doubt that any Catholic or Orthodox priest, mainline Protestant minister, or even a rabbinical biblical scholar would find fault with his opinion. The mixing of MAGA nationalism with scripture is blasphemy.

1

u/DNthecorner 10d ago

Damn. Grew up independent fundamentalist Baptist and I would still be a Christian if I had more preachers like him

1

u/Borderlinecuttlefish 10d ago

Is this a woke?

1

u/tommymctommerson 10d ago

Didn't Jesus flip tables over at the temple for what Trump did to that bible?

3

u/tommymctommerson 10d ago

He's a rare one. A unicorn.

1

u/IndefatigableOne 10d ago

He’s not entirely off base....

1

u/ckindley 10d ago

Ngl, had me in the first half. Then he went off the deep end! Still a psychopath conman.

1

u/NoCalHomeBoy 10d ago

Don't forget about their wallet!

1

u/becooltheywatching 10d ago

This mf spittin

1

u/becooltheywatching 10d ago

This mf spittin

1

u/Sir_Keee 10d ago

I've never agreed with someone I disagree with more than this.

I don't believe the whole "just passing through" thing and I think that is a very damaging ideology to hold, because it basically means you can fuck up this only world we will ever know, and to them it doesn't matter.

But at least his words fit in with his own ideology and at least in this clip he hasn't shown the typical hypocrisy of the evangelical American mindset.

1

u/Grass_roots_farmer 10d ago

Not religious, but strangely, I could listen to this man all day

2

u/Zazmuth 10d ago edited 10d ago

I believe in America, that 80-90% of tithes and donations should go to good works: new homes, food, medical care, halfway houses, education, mental healthcare; and that religious leaders should lead common lives. If not in near penury. If you care so much about that undiscovered country, about life everlasting, you don't need a fucking jet or a mansion. Foolish, I know. See how golden the watch is on their wrists. Fuck it, just tax religion.

2

u/BranofRaisin 10d ago

Most priests/pastors are not rich. Its the Creflo Dollars, Kenneth Copelands, etc that are loaded

1

u/Zazmuth 10d ago

But they have a lot of followers. And megachurches are fact. They are a troubling outlier.

1

u/Nickp7186 10d ago

Fucking a right. Preach it brother

1

u/Revolutionary_Buy112 10d ago

Amen brother 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

1

u/a_duck_in_past_life 10d ago

Dude goes hard not realizing he's advocating for separation of church and state. Or maybe he does. But yeah. Your religion should be about your spiritual life and emotions. Your voting should be based off of reality and reason.

1

u/rivalizm 10d ago

About time real Pastors stepped to this bullshit.

1

u/Some-Guy-Online 10d ago

He's still a fruitcake, but maybe less damaging than those highly political evangelists who want to force their bullshit on me through government.

1

u/Little_Spoon_ 10d ago

This isn’t respect for the separation of church and state, it’s privilege. To think that politics and religion aren’t inextricably mixed, you’re in a bubble so far up your ass, you probably think you don’t even have to be an abolitionist.

Clean hands, guys!! It must be nice to think that “you’re just walking through” temporarily so that you don’t have the responsibility, the moral responsibility, to help others. Wow.

1

u/floofnstuff 10d ago

Amen 🙏

1

u/boombang621 10d ago

Preach brother

2

u/Link9454 10d ago

Huh, a pastor I can agree with about public life. Don’t see that too often.

2

u/tinglep 10d ago

Preach.

2

u/Hopeful_Nihilism 10d ago

As an atheist, halle-fuck'n-lujah

1

u/poopagandist 10d ago

Hey everybody, he's being a more anti-political person in this sermon, but he's saying the things of this world are not his concern, because he's headed off to heaven. That's fucking crazy, just so we're all here together.

1

u/Dankey-Kang-Jr 10d ago

Fucking 🅱️ASED

1

u/GuzPolinski 10d ago

Bout effing time

1

u/iburiedmyshovel 10d ago

I really wish I was that kind of crazy, I'd be real good at it.

1

u/SocksElGato 10d ago

Good stuff, even if you're not a believer. Christo-Fascists probably hate him.

1

u/EllisR15 10d ago

Holy shit! Hopefully those that need to hear it are listening.

1

u/tomheist 10d ago

This sounds so much like South Park

1

u/Consent-Forms 10d ago

Can we get a Preacher vs Trump match up?

1

u/Consent-Forms 10d ago

Imma take a guess and say this isn't Texas.

1

u/redstoc1 10d ago

Except for the fact that the constitution doesn’t say “ of the people, by the people, for the people” I really hope his message sunk in with his congregation.

1

u/PineappleTonyMaloof 10d ago

If this guy could, he would absolutely make the USA a Christian state.

1

u/cooquip 10d ago

That’s a good man

1

u/eatpotdude 10d ago

Ummmm can I get a hallaBOOYAA

1

u/MisterNiblet 10d ago

I’m not even religious and this man is PREACHING.

1

u/sqwirlmasta 10d ago

This is how all Christians should think!

1

u/jollytoes 10d ago

Collection plate must be getting real light these days. When it comes to grifting and donations you better not get in the way of the pastor's third summer mansion.
