This is what protestant Christianity is all about. Today, Churches are just manipulated by politicians who parrot Christian discourse and outright preach hate to get themselves in power, making deals with pastors who only care about money. It's disgusting.

It’ll put this video into better context of why what he is saying is part of a small but growing movement of evangelical pastors trying to fight back against the politicalization of their church.

He was Cookin. I'm a Muslim but my family is christian, I seen on their Tv they had TBN on and on the show, they were platforming Jan 6'ers, hocking books, while still facing trial, telling a distorted view of their story. it was like stacklebeck or something and they were just saying pretty hate filled stuff. Now this preacher here.. is doing the lords work.

This is a good pastor. Love the straight forward and directness. Some of the guys mix politics in with preaching, especially back in in Bible Belt where I’m from. Breathe of fresh air

The sad part is you can tell a lot of people don’t agree in the crowd. Which in a church setting like this one, says a lot. I wouldn’t be surprised if a good chunk of these people look for another church after this. A lot of Religious people can be petty af lol

When I was a teenager I hated George Bush and my pastor prayed that God would lead him in the right direction and help guide him to make good decisions for our country.
I was so angry I stood up mid sermon and walked out. Years later he said the same things about Obama. I realized as I got older my pastor wasn’t pushing Bush or Obama but just praying he guides them to make the right choices despite what anyone’s political beliefs were.

like all preachers, he is knowingly lying professionally, because preachers are being taught professionally what part of scripture to ignore, the human child sacrifice, the genocide, the after-the-fact literacy-prophecies, that are actually just 80 year old diaries, the bigotry and dictatorship/slavery promoitions.
none of it is relevant of it anymore, all of it can be done better without religion.
All religion is all fraudulent and based on lies. it is all about gaining power and wealth by misleading and lying.

They call themselves Christian or a believer of the bible? Well...tough shit, your peers got involved by saying 250 years ago that slavery was essential because it was in the bible. Your religion is inextricably tied to politics.

Good stuff. This is pretty much how imams are at every mosque. They tell people to be kind to their neighbours, obey the law of the land they live in, and just focus on their prayers and faith in God. Honestly, politics has zero place within a religious institution, be it a mosque, church or synagogue.

Ok feel free to go through this life “renting” while you wait for your forever home in the fantasy place in the clouds, where you can eat ice cream for breakfast, watch 700 Club perpetually and never again have to sit on a bus stop bench near another person “who don’t look right.” Those of us in grounded reality - who are not trying pointlessly to hold our breaths for 75-ish years - are going to engage with the world around us. Not normally one to agree with a Christian preacher, but I 100% agree with this guy.
Hopefully, they will start to figure out that the concept of separation between Church and state is just as much about protecting the integrity of the church as it is about protecting the freedoms provided by the state.
This Trump era and the political ties thay conservatives have created have made a complete mockery of their religion.

Basically what he's saying is, some politicians are using religion as a way to brainwash people to vote when in reality, it should be your own choice who to vote for and not be influenced by propaganda.

Although I am not comfortable with this particular kind of expression of christianity, the preacher here stands on very solid theological ground. I doubt that any Catholic or Orthodox priest, mainline Protestant minister, or even a rabbinical biblical scholar would find fault with his opinion. The mixing of MAGA nationalism with scripture is blasphemy.

I've never agreed with someone I disagree with more than this.
I don't believe the whole "just passing through" thing and I think that is a very damaging ideology to hold, because it basically means you can fuck up this only world we will ever know, and to them it doesn't matter.
But at least his words fit in with his own ideology and at least in this clip he hasn't shown the typical hypocrisy of the evangelical American mindset.

I believe in America, that 80-90% of tithes and donations should go to good works: new homes, food, medical care, halfway houses, education, mental healthcare; and that religious leaders should lead common lives. If not in near penury. If you care so much about that undiscovered country, about life everlasting, you don't need a fucking jet or a mansion. Foolish, I know. See how golden the watch is on their wrists. Fuck it, just tax religion.
