The Dow Jones Industrial Average is getting a makeover.

S&P Dow Jones Indices, which manages the 30-stock benchmark, said it would add Salesforce. com, Amgen Inc. AMGN and Honeywell Inc. to the blue-chip index at the start of trading on Monday.

Those three stocks will replace Exxon XOM Mobil Corp., Pfizer Inc. and Raytheon Technologies Corp, respectively.

Apple (AAPL) has become the first US company to reach a $2 trillion market cap.

Airbnb is planning its market debut next week, with its shares scheduled to begin trading Dec. 10. On Tuesday, the company said it plans to sell 50 million new shares at an offering price of $44 to $50 a share.

Tilson Speculates About Criminal Charges: In his daily newsletter on Tuesday, Tilson said a friend told him this week he believes it’s only a matter of time before Nikola and Milton face criminal indictments.

“I agree, and confidently predict that General Motors will end the partnership with Nikola that it announced last week, Nikola's stock will collapse, and Milton will end up behind bars for securities fraud,” Tilson said.

Nikola had not responded to a request for comment from Benzinga on Tilson's statements at the time of publication Wednesday.

Anti-viral drug remdesivir has little to no effect on Covid patients' chances of survival, a study from the World Health Organization (WHO) has found.

Whilst it’s manufacturer Gilead ($GILD) have rejected the findings of this study it’s likely that it will have a massive impact on the demand for the drug worldwide.

$GILD is down around 1% in premarket and I imagine will have a solid red day.

About a half hour or so ago, Amazon announced they will lease 12 more Boeing 767 cargo jets to their fleet. The 12 jets will gradually be phased into the fleet. One joined in May, and the rest will be in service by 2021. On top of that, Amazon is opening a new hub at Lakeland Linder Airport this summer (for all the aviation geeks out there, KLAL is the IATA code). They will also be opening a hub at the San Bernardino airport alongside their main hub at Cincinnati International Airport in 2021.

At the NIO Day event on January 9, 2021, NIO will unveil its first sedan, 150kWh battery, NT2.0 autonomous driving platform, and second-generation battery swap station, NIO co-founder and president Qin Lihong said on December 22 at the 100kWh battery sharing session, according to Autohome.com.cn [...] 150kWh battery pack that will give its cars a range of more than 900km.

In addition, there are reports that Qin also mentioned that NIO will announce its plans of using LIDAR at NIO Day and NIO's solution is more powerful than what is currently being discussed in the Chinese auto industry.

Reports are circulating that Microsoft is looking to purchase Tick Tock outright. Is this really a good business move on their part? Could we really see a buy the hype sell the news with MSFT? I mean I know MSFT is typically seen as one of the safest plays and a solid long term hold but is the expectation that this news could shoot it past say 220 with the possibility of a large crash if the deal turns out to be way overpaid or MSFT gets in over their heads trying to run it?

A passenger plane with more than 50 people on board has gone missing after take-off from the Indonesian capital Jakarta.

The Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737 lost contact en route to Pontianak in West Kalimantan province, officials said.

Flight tracking website Flightradar24.com said the aircraft had lost more than 3,000m (10,000ft) in altitude in less than a minute.

The transport ministry said search and rescue efforts were under way.

A helpful fact to note is that NIO cars are popular and that they sell full production capacity of the models they are making so far. That means that their sales are only limited their production capacity, given the demand that exists for their cars.

Nio To Launch Two Back-To-Back Sedans In A Challenge To Tesla Model 3

The Chinese EV maker will launch a sedan "soon" and is currently developing another one, Li said without elaborating further on the timeline, as first reported by Bloomberg. “So the next two products in line will both be sedans.”

The "Nio Day" annual event, where the company typically unveils new products and technologies, is slated to happen in January, Nio confirmed to Benzinga last month, and the new sedan launch could come at this time.

The company's sedan offerings are said to be vying to compete with Tesla Inc. TSLA 10.2% Model 3 sedan vehicles. Nio's stock is on a meteoric rise but the Elon Musk-led company is a threatening presence in its home market of China, especially with the upcoming locally-made Model Y launch.

Li, in August, said Nio was planning to expand internationally by the end of 2020, starting with Europe.

Oracle Corp. ORCL -0.58% won the bidding for the U.S. operations of the video-sharing app TikTok, a person familiar with the matter said, beating out Microsoft Corp. MSFT -0.65% in a deal to salvage a social-media service that has been caught in the middle of a geopolitical standoff.

Oracle is set to be announced as TikTok’s “trusted tech partner” in the U.S., and the deal is likely not to be structured as an outright sale, the person said.

Microsoft earlier Sunday said in a statement that it was notified earlier in the day of the decision by TikTok parent ByteDance Ltd.

“We are confident our proposal would have been good for TikTok’s users, while protecting national security interests,” the statement said. “To do this, we would have made significant changes to ensure the service met the highest standards for security, privacy, online safety, and combatting disinformation, and we made these principles clear in our August statement. We look forward to seeing how the service evolves in these important areas.”

The move by Beijing-based ByteDance comes days after the Chinese government threw negotiations into doubt when it issued new export restrictions late last month on the kind of artificial intelligence technology TikTok uses. The algorithms, which determine the videos served to users and are seen as TikTok’s secret sauce, were considered part of the deal negotiations up until the Chinese policy change raising questions among the parties involved in negotiations over how to value the social-media business.

President Trump has said repeatedly that he would shut down TikTok in the U.S. if it isn’t sold to an American company by Sept. 15, though it isn’t clear if that is the operative deadline. In an Aug. 6 executive order, the White House gave ByteDance a 45-day deadline before it would ban the app, which the Trump administration says poses an economic and national-security threat to U.S. interests, if it isn’t sold to a U.S. buyer. That gives the parties until Sept. 20 to seal a deal.

TikTok has soared to around 100 million monthly users in the U.S., from about 11 million in early 2018, and they are considered among the most lucrative in the app’s global user base of about 689 million, though the app still loses money.

The Trump administration has pushed for a sale, expressing concern that TikTok could pass on data it collects from Americans streaming videos to China’s authoritarian government. TikTok has said it hasn’t been asked to share data with the Chinese government and wouldn’t do so if asked.

Tesla has significantly cut pricing for three of its models.

The Model 3 sedan is now $2,000 cheaper and starts at $37,990. 

Tesla slashed pricing for its Model S and Model X models by $5,000, bringing their base prices to $74,990 and $79,990, respectively.
